3 reviews for Small Business Server 2011 Standard x64 with 5 CALs OEM

  1. John Bandy

    Strengths:
This product just keeps getting better and better all the time. Each new version adds additional functionality and when priced against Windows Server 2008 R2 it is almost the same money but you get Exchange, Sharepoint (services), and SQL Workgroup (for free!)

    Weaknesses:
    None

  2. Pete Santer

    Strengths:
We needed a new server and decided to try out SBS 2011 (we’ve used SBS 2008 R2 in the past). Very impressed with the setup. Perfect for small companies with small budgets.

    Weaknesses:
    None. Very stable, runs smoothly.

    Comments:
Thumbs up to SoftwareMedia.com their customer service was friendly and able to answer all my questions quickly.

Microsoft hit a home run with Small Businesses with SBS2011 Standard and Premium.

Based on MS Server 2008 R2 with a Ram Memory cap of 32 gb, With support for 75 users, included MS Exchange Server and SQL 2008 and 2008 R2, SharePoint 2010, Hyper-V 2008 and IIS 7.0, this Operating System was a great buy.

Microsoft abandoned this OS when it released all of the Server 2012 product with the expectation that small businesses would move over to the “CLOUD”, which is nothing more than a Server Farm at some remote location.

Small Business owners wanted their Email and Data housed “in house” for a reason and much of it because they don’t like paying the monthly or yearly expense of having it elsewhere.

I frankly prefer having control over my email and my data being stored locally.
